The ingredients:
- 1/3 cup kefir grains
- 4 cups water
- 1/3 cup organic cane sugar
- 1 tbsp organic turbinado sugar
- 4 thin slices of organic apple
- 1 small cube cut from organic ginger root
We let the batch brew for 48 hours and then strained and bottled our water kefir drink. After I put the batch (without the kefir grains) in a new jar, I closed the lid tightly and refrigerated for another couple of hours. This made the drink more carbonated and it tasted like an apple flavored ginger ale.
I even let family and a friend try the drink, and they loved it. This is definitely a favorite.
